It was Hamilton’s fourth win in a row and put him three points ahead of Rosberg in the driver’s championship.
Hamilton led from start to finish but it was a fascinating battle with Rosberg – the pair finishing a long distance in front of the rest.
“I wasn’t fast enough really today,” said Hamilton after the race, while Roberg was disappointed not to catch his rival.
“One more lap and I would have been close enough to give it a good go,” the German said.
Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel put in a much improved performance, recovering from 15th to finish fourth.
Teammate and Aussie Daniel Ricciardo was third.
