Running between Maida Vale and Marble Arch, Edgware Road is one of the London’s most ethnically rich melting pots. Known variously as Little Beirut and Little Cyprus, depending which block you’re on, the strip is brimming with late-night kebab options and tasty Middle Eastern coffee.
Another highlight of a stroll down Edgware Road is the sheer number of garish furniture shops. In this neck of the woods, the more over-the-top, the better, particularly if it’s covered in gold leaf.
Edgware Road is at its best late on a warm night. After 11pm, much of London either winds down or gets so messy that you’re better off steering clear, but Edgware Road is still humming deep into the night, with diners out on the pavements, and the whole scene lightly perfumed by cinnamon-scented shisha smoke.
