Redknapp furiously denied reports on Tuesday that he had resigned from the north London club but it appears now that he has left the Premier League club after contract negotiations broke down.
Redknapp says on the Spurs website: “I have had a fantastic four years with the club, at times the football has been breathtaking.
“I am sad to be leaving but wish to thank the players, staff and fans for their terrific support during my time there.”
Everton’s David Moyes is the bookies’ fave to replace Redknapp, who led Spurs to fourth in the Premier league last season only to see them dramatically miss out on a Champions League place after sixth placed Chelsea won the competition in May.
