Police are looking for a man described as white with a shaven head, 6ft tall and stocky after he punched Hollyoaks actor, Thomas
Scurr, in the early hours of the morning on Saturday May 11.
The 22-year-old, who plays student Barney Harper-McBride in the Channel 4 soap, was walking through Leicester Square with fellow actor James Conway when the attack happened at 2.30am. After pausing to have some photos taken with fans who recognised them, the thug, accompanied by a female with shoulder-length brown hair, approached the star and punched him in the face, breaking his cheekbone and fracturing his eye socket.
Investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Nathan Tozer is seeking members of the public who may have seen anything – particularly those who took the pictures. “I am keen to hear from anyone who was in the area and may have taken pictures of the pair on their phone, or noticed the incident taking place,” he said.
Scurr commented: “’I would personally be very grateful for any information members of the public may have that would help DS Tozer with his investigation. Hopefully then we can find this guy and show him that there are always consequences.”
