James Whitmarsh was at a Christmas party when he began answering questions with the word ‘honk’ soon after a seafood starter.

His worried friends called an ambulance. But, while receiving treatment, Whitmarsh,41, allegedly grabbed the paramedic’s backsideand groped her between her legs.

Whitmarsh admitted he had been drinking Prosecco, lager, white and red wine during an evening in Covent Garden.

Prosecutor Victoria Ailes told  jurors: ‘He was unsteady on his feet, swinging his arms around and, when he was asked how he was, he intermittently answered with either  “Yes”, “No”, or “Honk”. The group concluded he was drunk.’

However, Whitmarsh claimed his actions were out of his control ‘because he was having a bad reaction or suffering from a toxin as a result of some fish or seafood’.

The trial, at London’s Southwark crown court, continues.
