Overview Never has such a compact space been so achingly cool. But then, with Paris’s uber-modern George Pompidou Center (a haven of contemporary art) a mere 10-minute walk away, Jim & Jules was always going to be cutting edge.
The elevator opens up directly into each room. Mine feels like a designer pod. By-the-bed controls determine your lighting options (push ‘relax’ in the evening for a gradual fade to complete black), and the television is hidden neatly behind a sliding mirror.
Wow factor Though small, the room has some A-grade perks, including a heavenly rain shower, a private balcony with a view of the hotel’s cobbled courtyard, and Molton Brown toiletries.
Rooms The décor is distinctly minimalist (monochrome is the watch-word), though far from minimal. The rooms come with a sleek flatscreen TV, free wi-fi and an iPod docking station (in other words, all the comforts of home).
Bill please Double rooms start at £170 per night.
