Members of the Colla ‘Colla Vella Xiquets de Valls’ constructed a human tower during the 23rd Tarragona Castells Competition on October 3, 2010 in Tarragona, Spain.

The ‘castellers’ compete in groups, known as ‘colles’, at local festivals with the aim to build the highest and most complex human tower. The Catalan tradition, believed to originate in the 18th century, is part of the Catalan culture.
