Dulce Requena Garcia, 21, was collared in the city of Tampico and taken to a nearby police station where she was fined the equivalent of around £20 for her off-the-cuff offence. But when she didn’t have any cash on her the officers got starchy and threw her in a cell for 12 hours.
The bizarre arrest took place after her truck driver husband, Edgar Ivan Perez Alvarado, told police that when he got home from work he had wanted a change of clothes to go out with friends. But his wife refused to iron the garments and accused him of going out to meet his mistress.
The furious Alvarado complained to cops that his wife spent too much time in front of the TV and not enough time doing the housework.
