Canberra’s renowned truffle festival is held each winter. This year’s celebration of locally harvested black truffles may have already started, but no need for concern as it continues throughout July.
The eight week celebration includes food and wine, truffle inspired dishes popping up on restaurants throughout the city, cooking classes and demonstrations in over 50 venues across the region. There’s even a truffle hunt that needs to be experienced to be believed.
The real fun happens during the truffle hunt. The truffle dog or pig move quickly when they locate the nutty, mushroom like scent and track down the not so easy to find truffle.
