Sheryl Gascoigne was the first contestant to get evicted from I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here after spending 13 days in the jungle.

The ex wife of England football legend Paul “Gazza” Gascoigne failed to secure enough public votes to remain in the challenge, but was relieved to leave the camp.

She
told show hosts Ant and Dec: “I’m pleased to be out. The last couple of days, with
all the rain and being in the prison, hasn’t been great.”

When asked about the melodrama of nutritionist contestant Gillian McKeith, Gasciogne, 45, said she didn’t think she had quite grasped what the show was all about.
“She kept on saying, ‘why are they putting bugs on my head?’,” Gasciogne said.
“I don’t know if she had ever seen the show. I don’t know why she came on the show.”

Sipping
champagne before being greeted by her children – Bianca, Regan and
Mason – Gasciogne added: “She was entertaining, she was going crazy and
fainting and everything. I’m sure it was great TV. I didn’t think
anything bad about her, she has a major, major phobia.”

McKeith was branded “insane” by This Morning presenter Alison Hammond after belting out a rendition of James Brown’s I feel Good in the jungle jail.
Gasciogne and McKeith each missed out on the opportunity to compete for immunity
from the public vote when they refused to participate in an earlier
trial, which was eventually won by former Lib Dem MP Lembit Opik.
McKeith said she was confident the public would want to see her remain on the show.
“If they like screaming and blood-curdling shrieks and scares they’ll keep me here,” she said.
But the other contestants didn’t feel the same way. Jenny Eclair branded her a “fucking silly bitch” for helping herself to a third portion of lunch.
Contestants had to “sing for their suppers” in a karaoke game which saw them win seven out of 12 meals for the camp.
Gasciogne is backing former X Factor star Stacey Soloman to win the show.
