We all have our reasons for doing a stint in London. For many a move here is a chance to climb the career ladder, or even take a new career path altogether.

If you were brave enough to show up in London alone, questions and small fears are probably swimming through your head like it’s no-one’s business.

A free self-development seminar, to be held in Ealing on Monday, March 7, might help you achieve some headspace.

“It will help you awaken more personal power, creativity and energy,” says Andre Petrolo, who is hosting the free event.

Petrolo, 33, from Melbourne, Australia, has been enlightening people about how to take control of their future for the past six years.

It all sounds a bit new-age, but, apart from the fact that it’s free, the beauty about this event is that you can take from it what you will and apply it to your life just how you want to.

Petrolo explains: “The seminar is relevant to people who struggling in life in some way and want to move to a level of contentment in their life. And even for those who aren’t struggling at all, and perhaps want to start a business or something. This could also really benefit them.”

Petrolo can speak from personal experience.

“When I first got here to London I had a couple of very good friends here but they weren’t always available week in week out.

“Within two weeks I was in a place of my own, but at a loose end. I remember my first two months being lonely and depressing.

“I want to save people that hassle.”

According to Petrolo people are prone to limiting beliefs. It’s just the way our minds work and they’re prompted by uncomfortable experiences we’ve had, such as the last time you had your heart broken.

“It can even stretch as far back as your time at school and peer pressure. If you drill further down into these issues you can start to understand your behaviour.

In this three-hour seminar, which Petrolo stresses is not a therapy session, all you’re required to do is listen and participate a little and take on board what you learn to apply to your life situation.

The seminar will involve creative writing and even a little art.

It could all be a whole lot of fun, really!

The event is being held on Monday, March 7, 2011 at the Ealing Town Hall, New Broadway, Ealing, W5 2BY. It starts at 7.30pm. There’s no need to book. Simply turn up.
