Ireland in 2-3 days

For most countries, a 2-3 day break usually means heading to the capital.

But in Ireland’s case there are a number of options which could leave you equally satisfied

to Galway and enjoy a number of day trips to sights out of town like the Cliffs of Moher and Kylemore Abbey. Then, of course, you can take in the atmospheric pubs and buzzing nightlife in this thriving city.

In 7-9 days

Start off with two days in Dublin taking in Trinity College which was started in the sixteenth century, the Guinness Brewery and Temple Bar in the evenings. Then make your way west to Galway and do the 2-3 day itinerary above.

From there head south to Killarney where you can drive around the famous Ring of Kerry. It’s also a good base from which to explore the Dingle Peninsula which is a great spot with some beautiful beaches.

Two weeks +

Take the 7-9 day itinerary and then head towards the south-east.

Stop in along the way on the Beara Peninsula, also known as the Ring of Beara. It’s less famous then the Ring of Kerry, but probably more spectacular, if only because of the fact that sheep well out-number the tourists on the farm roads.

Stop off at Kinsale which is considered the culinary capital of Ireland.

Base yourself in Cork for a couple of days where you can pick up the gift of the gab by kissing the Blarney Stone at Blarney Castle. It’s also a good opportunity to see the last port where the Titanic docked at the pretty town of Cobh.
