Donovan, who has a musical theatre back ground, will be joined by former Spice Girl Melanie C in the early stages of the show where they whittle the prospective talents down to 40 over the next few weeks.
“We’ve had a boy from New Zealand, a boy from Israel, we had somebody coming in from Lithuania,” Lloyd Webber has said of those who have auditioned so far, even revealing that there have been a number of girls turning up for the auditions too.
“We’ve had 3.000 people in to audition for the role, we’ve even had a few girls – one girl who’s very, very good.”
The duo will not be involved in the live shows though with Lloyd Webber to announce a judging panel for this at a later date.
