Ann Duffy, 50, of Plymouth, posed as her husband’s future wife and called the registry office to cancel their wedding.
Proud of her somewhat-selfish actions, she then called her brother and said: “I have saved you a divorce, because I have cancelled your wedding.”
Of course, the bride-to-be was none too happy with this unforseen arrangement, and called the police, which led to Ms Duffy’s arrest.
Ms Duffy admitted harassment and will be sentenced next month.
However, she maintains that the wedding is a disastrous move, and posted on her Facebook: ‘My family know the truth.’ We’re betting Christmas 2014 will be a strained affair.
