Jeans for Refugees (JFR) is a global artistic collaboration dedicated to helping refugees worldwide. The JFR initiative has inspired 100 international celebrities to donate a pair of their jeans including A-list stars Salma Hayek, Julianne Moore, Ryan Gosling, Victoria Beckham, Kate Moss, Benicio Del Toro, Karlie Kloss, Sir Elton John, Claudia Schiffer, Harry Styles, Sharon Stone, Pink and many others.

Each pair of donated denims has been hand-painted by Dar, and transformed into a unique wearable art piece inspired by their celebrity donor, in solidarity with the refugee cause. Jeans for Refugees is an extraordinary and unprecedented collection celebrating individuality, championing inclusivity, and affirming the equal value of every human life and the power of every human being to act for positive change.

Jeans for Refugees began as Dar’s personal quest to act in response to the greatest humanitarian crisis of our time. The JFR initiative creates an empathetic connection between celebrities who are the focus and preoccupation of our society, to those who are shunned, ignored and feared, as they struggle to survive a range of tragic circumstances.

The initiative has steadily evolved into a collective movement for positive change. The JFR collection has been previewed in Berlin, New York and Milan, shown twice on the runway, and will culminate with the exhibit at the Saatchi Gallery when all one hundred pieces will be brought together for the ultimate show. The exhibition takes place during the last week of the online auction, which is now live at www.catawiki.com/jeansforrefugees, so it’s also the last chance to bid for your favourite pair.

See Jeans for Refugees up close and personal, and experience the innovation, collaboration and creativity of the JFR initiative for yourself. Warning: this exhibition may leave you noticeably inspired, uplifted, and with renewed hope for the world.

Saatchi Gallery, 24 – 30 October 2016.
