Jessica Simpson is set to marry boyfriend and former American Football player Eric Johnson.
The loved-up couple have been dating since May, and it’s believed that Johnson popped the question on Thursday last week – only six days after Simpson’s ex-husband Nick Lachey announced his engagement to TV-host Vanessa Minnillo.
The I think I’m In Love With You singer was flashing a huge ruby and diamond ring at a PR event for her clothing line in a Kansas shopping mall on the weekend, and a spokesperson for Simpson has now put an end to the speculations by confirming the news in People magazine: “Yes, we are excited to confirm that they are engaged!”
When Simpson was asked about her relationship with Johnson in People magazine last month she said, “This is just normal, thank God. He’s very, very supportive. [I] couldn’t ask for a better man in my life right now.”
The big question now is, will Simpson sign up to another reality show with her new husband, like she did with Lachey in Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica.
