Jim Morrison, the legendary Doors frontman, has been pardoned for indecent exposure, despite the fact that he’s been dead for nearly 40 years.

Morrison was accused of flashing his penis to the audience at a 1969 concert in Miami. However Florida Governor Charlie Crist has decided that an injustice may have been done due to lack of evidence and that Morrison may have been innocent.

Yesterday, Morrison received a posthumous pardon on both accounts.

Fans had always claimed that Morrison never actually got his bits out on stage and Doors keyboardist Ray Manzarek said that it was, in fact, “mass hypnosis”.

“He was just doing a mind trip, as they would say,” said Manzarek. “A mind trip on the audience and they totally fell for it.

“He taunted the audience, ‘I’m going to show you! I’m going to show it to you’. Then he took his shirt off, held it in front of him like a bullfighter’s cape, wiggled it around as if there was something going on behind it.”

After the incident, imagined or otherwise, Morrison was sentenced to six months in jail and fined $500.

However, before his appeal could be heard the Doors singer was found dead in a flat in Paris, aged 27.

Although no autopsy was ever done, it was thought that Morrison died after mixing heroin and cocaine.
