Jonas Brothers’ Joe Jonas and Twilight actress Ashley Greene have split, whipping up an online frenzy in the process
Websites Just Jared and New York Post‘s Page Six are reporting the break-up, with Page Six citing a source saying “It was mutual and amicable.
The news comes as Jonas, who has dated Taylor Swift, Camilla Belle
and Demi Lovato, gushes about his relationship with Greene in the April
edition of Details magazine.
“It feels good,” he said of the relationship.
“I think what works about it is she really puts my
feelings first. She understands my busy schedule. She’ll fly out to my
shows – she’s been to places in South America that I can’t even
pronounce.”
Just Jared additionally reported that Joe and Ashley are in New York
City.
The 21-year-old singer is working on his first solo album, while
the 24-year-old actress is in town to shoot a new campaign for
cosmetics brand, mark. On Tuesday night, she was spotted partying with
friends, including Kings of Leon bassist rocker Jared Followill at the Big Apple’s hotspot Avenue.
Bit according to E Online, Jonas has been doing some partying of his own.
The website’s Michael Casablance reported a girl who was out near Jonas last week as saying:
“He was very flirtatious all night, and if I were Ashley Greene I would not want my boyfriend acting like that towards a bunch of hoes,” she said
“He had his hands all over this girl’s ass saying he couldn’t take
his eyes off her when she danced,” explains the surprised onlooker.
But a member of Jonas’s entourage defended his friend.
“He was there with his boys, just out having fun,” he said. “But grabbing some gal’s ass? That’s not Joe, he
never behaves like that.”
As news of the split spread online, Twitter users expressed their sorrow and, in some cases, glee.
