Johnny Depp confirms that he is engaged to actress Amber Heard

The actor has confirmed his engagement to actress Amber Heard.

The 50-year-old star announced the engagement to his girlfriend while in Beijing promoting his latest film, Transcendence.

The couple met in 2010 filming The Rum Diary. Soon afterwards, Depp split from partner of 14 years, Vanessa Paradis.

Depp spoke warmly of his fiancee, saying: “She’s a wonderful girl. She’s sharp as a tack. A southern belle and sweet as can be, and very good for me.”
