Soul singer Joss Stone has broken her silence following the arrest of two men who were charged with planning to rob and commit grievous bodily harm against her.
Two men in their thirties were picked up by police near Stone’s country home in Devon on Tuesday night. A search uncovered swords, rope and a body bag on their persons.
“As a result of enquiries the two males are now being detained for the further offences of conspiracy to rob and conspiracy to murder. Major crime detectives are continuing to investigate,” police confirmed.
The two men have since been identified as Kevin Liverpool and Junior Bradshaw from Manchester, and have been charged with the offence of conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm and rob the UK soul singer.
Stone issued a statement regarding the incident, claiming: “I’d like to thank everyone for their concern but I’m absolutely fine and getting on with life as normal while the police continue their enquiries.”
Commenting on Liverpool and Bradshaw’s arrest, a friend of Stone’s also told The Mirror: “On the outside she’s insisting that she’s fine but inside she is just in pieces. This is something that’s shocked her to the core. She can’t get her head around it.”
They added: “Joss is praying it’s nothing but she’s rattled, to say the least. She knows she’s in the public eye and is the focus of attention but this is just too much.”
The 24-year old is also said to have told the pal: “This is something out of a horror film. This can’t be happening to me.”
