The Jubilee line is facing a long stretch of intermittent closures as engineers toil to repair the severely damaged line between Finchley Road and Waterloo.

The line will be closed for 30 days over the next two years, including various dates throughout the summer including the Monday of the Bank Holiday weekend Noting Hill Carnival, and into the autumn. The section will also face closures over the Christmas holiday period and into the new year, as well.

“This is part of ongoing maintenance and, due to the nature of the work, some closures during the weekends will unfortunately be required between Finchley Road and Waterloo,” Jubilee, Northern and Piccadilly Lines programme director Stuart Harvey has said.
The reason for the repairs is that acidic water is causing severe damage to the walls of the line’s tunnels.
