Assange’s guest role will be screened in the US on February 19, which marks the 500th episode of The Simpsons.
In the episode, Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, Maggie and their pets – leave home and move to a isolated area where the find themselves living next to Assange, who portrays himself.
To avoid getting too deeply involved with the troubled hacker, the writers made sure the appearance was satirical.
Assange, who after revealing classified diplomatic information via the internet is concerned of severe punishment by American authorities, recorded his lines remotely from Britain.
He is currently under house arrest outside London and due to appear before Britain’s Supreme Court on Wednesday to appeal his extradition to Sweden where he has been accused of sexual misconduct by two former WikiLeaks volunteers.
Assange is worried that if he is extradited to Sweden, US officials might attempt to have him taken to the US where possibly he could be charged for crimes related to the leaked documents.
Last week, Kremlin-funded English language channel Russia Today said it had given Assange his own television talk show, The World Tomorrow, in which he will interview noteworthy figures.
