Katie Price has blamed her bad driving on being “a typical woman driver” after being found guilty of not being in full control of a pink horsebox as she drove along a motorway.

Glamour model Price – aka Jordan – was driving the 7.5 tonne pink, luxury horsebox last February when police claim they saw her using a mobile phone. The multi-millionaire model then swerved across the road and into another lane of the road in Bolney, West Sussex.

Price’s eye-catching horsebox had four children in the back as well as Price’s husband Alex Reid and two other adult passengers.

Appearing in Mid Sussex magistrates’ court yesterday, Price denied using her phone and defended herself with the immortal line: “I’m a typical woman driver.”

“It’s a massive great lorry and I just wasn’t used to driving it,” Katie continued.

“The kids were very excitable,” she said. “We were all going to Euro Disney in a big pink lorry. You couldn’t really blame them, could you? It’s quite over the top really, isn’t it?

Price described the moment when a police car pulled alongside her, saying she looked over one shoulder: “I’m like this – sort of like, ooh!”

When the officer pulled her over and approached the cab, she told the court he said: “Oh, it’s you again – we’ve met before.”

Magistrates found Price guilty of the charge of not being in proper control of the vehicle, gave her three penalty points to add to seven already on her licence, fined her £1,000 and ordered her to pay £650 costs.

Well, Katie Price, guess that’s what you get for being a woman driver…
