Pop singer, Katie has been married to Russell Brand, the British comedian, radio presenter and actor, for the past 13 months.
According to reports, Perry has already done all the divorce paperwork.
Twitter is currently rife with reports of the divorce.
Star magazine reported in July that Katy Perry and Russell Brand were leading “separate lives”. Their careers had apparently been driving a wedge between the two of them, causing insiders to “fear the marriage may not last a year.”
However, the reports were somewhat scotched when the couple bought a new $6.5 million mansion in Hollywood together.

The pair got married in October in a “private and spiritual ceremony” at the Aman-e-Khas luxury resort, in India.
The couple and the bridal party all wore traditional Indian clothes during the ceremony, which also featured a troupe of 21 camels, elephants in the wedding procession.
Russell proposed to Katy in December 2009 outside the Taj Mahal during a romantic holiday.
