The couple were travelling from Cairo to the beach resort of Sharm El Sheikh when they were seized near the South Sinai city of Raas Sidr reports the BBC.
The kidnappers were demanding the release of four prisoners held in Alexandria on charges of arms smuggling, according to reports.

The Foreign Office had said it was “looking into” the kidnap reports.
