Nick Heyward fell to the ground after struggling with two men who arrived on a motorbike while he was walking through Mendoza’s San Martin Park with friends on Monday and was shot four times in the neck and chest, killing him.
His younger brother Stefan, who lives in Adelaide, described the 31-year-old as a “person of upmost character and quality” in an emotional Facebook post.
Heyward had lived in Australia for a number of years and travelled to Central America after completing a degree at the University of Queensland.
