Lady Gaga has released a new version of Born This Way (The Country Road Version) on Twitter, giving the dance track a bluegrass feel and sending fans into a frenzy.

Born This Way has been a worldwide hit, sitting in the top 100 of the Billboard charts for six weeks in a row.

Yesterday, Gaga tweeted:  “Surprise Monsters!: Born This Way (The Country Road Version) will be released on Twitter tomorrow at 12am PST/3am EST 3/25.”

True to her word, Born This Way (The Country Road Version) has now been unleashed. Here it is.

Born This Way (The Country Road Version) is a more laid-back version of Gaga’s song, featuring a harmonica and guitar. It was produced by Gaga and Fernando Garibay.

Lyrics to the new version include:

“If I want to make it country, baby it’s OK
Cause I was born, I was born, I was born this way.
London, Paris, Japan back to U.S.A., yeah I was born on the road, I was born to be brave.”

Reactions to Born This Way (The Country Road Version) have been mixed. Some comments on Youtube have dismissed Gaga’s attempts at country music.

“I can’t see true country fans rocking along to this,” said wildbloodydragon.

Skittles4me agrees: “Don’t get me wrong, I love Lady Gaga. But I also love country and listen to it all the time. This is not country music. It’s a pop voice with country music in the background.”

However, others have been gushing in their praise of Lady G.

“A MILLION times better than the original!!!! I love this!” wrote brooklynboricua17.

“its so f*cking amazing gaga,” agreed JanPeter1234.

Lady GaGa’s Born This Way is the lead single of her highly-anticipated, eponymous album, to be released May 23.
