Lady Gaga, Foo Fighters and Black Eyed Peas have been confirmed for Radio 1’s Big Weekend, BBC announced today.

The free event will be taking place at Carlisle airports, Cumbria on the weekend of May 14-15.

Gaga, who is headlining Radio 1’s Big Weekend on the Sunday, told the BBC: “I’ve been planning and rehearsing for so many months now and, after two years of working on my new album, I’ll get to do a great big performance in the UK”.

She also revealed that she is particularly excited about performing in front of her UK fans.

“I’m mostly excited for Radio 1’s Big Weekend because I can’t wait to see all of the ‘monsters’ in the UK.”

“This event is so important to me because BBC Radio 1 was one of the first stations to really support my artistry and my music and I get to come back and enjoy this moment with all of you.”

Radio 1’s Big Weekend will be Lady Gaga’s only festival performance this year.

Registration for tickets will open tomorrow Thursday, March 31 and closes on Thursday, April 7.
