Lady Gaga leads the MTV European Music Awards with nominations in six categories
The outrageous popstar renowned for such antics as wearing a “meat” dress led the field dominated by other pop divas such as Adele and Katy Perry.
Lady Gaga and rival Perry will go head to head in the Best Live and Best Pop categories and Best Song, with Perry nominated for "Firework" and Gaga for "Born This Way," which is also up for Best Video.
The British powerfully-voiced Adele has four nominations including the categories for Best Female, and Best Song and Best Video for her hit bluesy tune Rolling In The Deep.
Also with four nominations is singer/songwriter Bruno Mars for Best Male and Best Song, among other categories.
Rock was also represented with the Foo Fighters, Arcade Fire and The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kings of Leon picking up two nominations each.
The EMAs will take place in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on November 6.
