Lady Gaga’s Born This Way album exploded into the UK charts on Sunday with the biggest first-week sale of the year so far.

The much-anticipated album sold 215,000 units, more than the rest of the top 10 albums combined.

Adele sold 208,000 copies of her 21 album in the first week of its release in late January.

Lady Gaga’s previous album The Fame sold more than 2.5 million copies in the UK.

Gaga currently has three albums in the top 20, including Judas, Born This Way and The Edge of Glory.

Meanwhile, Bruno Mars has climbed from five to four in the album chart with Doo-Wops & Hooligans, while Jessie J’s Who You Are climbs from eight to six and the Prodigy came in at number five with World’s On Fire.
