Lily didn’t announce the birth of her child, who was welcomed into the world last November. Instead, the announcement was made by a friend on Twitter, with Allen making a public recognition the following week when she thanked fans and well wishers for their support.
Allen had suffered two miscarriages before, one with husband Cooper last year when she was already six months pregnant, and one with Chemical Brothers boyfriend Ed Simons in 2008.
Allen and Cooper married in a Gloucestershire village last year and it was only during Sam’s speech that it was revealed that the couple were expecting a child.
