Wondering where most Brits are travelling to for the Easter break? Research from travel site Momondo reveals that Lisbon – Portugal’s cultural capital – is the most popular destination for Easter (2-6 April).
Amsterdam was shown to be the second-most popular spot, followed by foodie favourite, Barcelona. The data was based on all searches for flights travelling from London, made from 17 September 2014 to 24 February 2015.
Rome (Italy), Istanbul (Turkey), Copenhagen (Denmark), Paris (France), Bucharest (Romania), Budapest (Hungary) and Berlin (Germany) complete the top 10 of Easter destinations.
The travel website also found that most Brits prefer to explore a city on foot – compared to 27% of Brits who prefer to hop and off the tourist buses, 19% who prefer guided city tours, 8% who prefer to hire bikes, 22% who like to take local buses, 11% who taxi around, 19% who hire cars and 21% who take the metro, when on a city break.
