Little Red (Lucky Number)

Melbourne might seem an unlikely place for a doo-wop revival, but local quintet Little Red seem poised to achieve just that, with a reputation for thrillingly fun live shows.

As you would expect, their debut is all toe-tapping tunes, dreamy harmonies and lets-hold-hands naiveté.

But the cutsie, jaunty “she’s so fine, she blows my mind” shtick wears thin pretty quickly.

It’s the kind of thing Swedish band The Hives did so much better 10 years back.
