The lodger who allowed Baby P to die could be released from prison this week.
Jason Owen, 39, is halfway through his six-year jail sentence for causing or allowing the death of 17-month-old Peter Connelly.
He is eligible for release at the end of this week, according to The Sun.
The former lodger was living with the toddler's mother Tracey Connelly and her boyfriend Steven Barker, Owen's brother.
The Sun says that Owen could receive plastic surgery, funded by the state, to protect him from attacks by the public.
Baby P endured more than 50 injuries in spite of receiving 60 visits from social workers, police and health workers over the last eight months of his life. He died on August 3, 2007.
