Double sculls pair Cohen and Sullivan has the eyes of the nation on them today as they bid to bring home New Zealand’s third medal of the London 2012 Olympics.

The rowing team had reason to be confident after making the second best time in the semifinals, after coming in six seconds faster for the best time in the heats.

Cohen said before the race that he wouldn’t be surprised if all six boats are together heading into the last couple of hundred metres.

“Looking at the heats and the semifinals that have been so far in some of the world cup racing over the last sort of year or two, that sort of thing, you can pretty much guarantee there’s going to be some pretty close finishes out there.”

Italy won silver in the men’s double sculls while Slovenia took bronze. Britain’s Bill Lucas and Sam Townsend came fifth.
