The decor is stylish and sleek, with cushions splashed across the sofas thaat hug the room, mirrors aligning the walls, and a huge, square bar in the centre of the venue. After work, the bar is filled, as you might expect, with city types, quaffing champers and sipping cocktails. I overhear a guy asking the barman what a jäger bomb is. There’s a small drinking area outside, but it’s jam packed with smokers, or those trying to hold a conversation as the music inside is so loud inside.

The grub: Modern Indian street food. Order nibbles such as spiced olives, potato & peanut chaat, or wheat crisps with yoghurt and tamarind chutney, or sharing platters included parathas – spiced lamb or cheddar with cumin and chilli.

Behind the bar: Forget the food – this is why you’re here. Choose an infused cocktail from its extensive list. Try a Cinnamon Bellini, a Spiced Kir Royal or a Passionfruit And Pineapple Blossom, mixed with gin. There’s also a top selection of whiskies, beers, ciders and ales, including asahi kuronama black.

Bill please: Nibbles from £2; bottled beer from £3.50; cocktails from £7.

Verdict: Bring a crowd and come for the top-notch cocktails.
