London International Mime Festival
WHAT: You might visualise mime artists as white-faced clowns pretending to be stuck behind invisible glass and, although that’s hilarious, this festival features far edgier, more demanding fare. Artists come from all over Europe and there are also workshops if you want to hone some new party tricks.
WHEN: January 15-30.
DO IT BECAUSE: It’s basically a canvas for some of the most inventive physical theatre around and there are puppets too. Everyone loves puppets.
Based at Southbank Centre, Belvedere Rd, SE1 8XX; other venues also included
Tube: Waterloo
