London Vegan Beer Fest founder and host Sean O’Callaghan, known to thousands of his readers as blogger Fat Gay Vegan, has coupled with legendary riverside pub The Old Ship W6 of Hammersmith to bring West London a unique event featuring dozens of cold beers, mouth-watering vegan food and unmatched views of the Thames.
“You can’t get a more beautiful location for a summer beer festival than The Old Ship W6. This pub has been increasingly popular with London’s vegan community thanks to the stunning plant-based additions to their regular menu, so it makes sense to take London Vegan Beer Fest to the next level with this riverside location and I’m thrilled to be partnering with them as my event turns four,” said Sean.
Having started as a boutique garden party in East London back in 2013 with 200 guests, London Vegan Beer Fest has doubled attendance year on year with 1,000 drinkers descending upon the event in 2015.
Sean continues: “I was blown away by the success of the event last year but changes needed to be made based on feedback I received. People wanted outdoor space and they wanted multiple food choices. This year at The Old Ship W6, they are getting both wishes granted as numerous vegan food stands will be set up in the riverside park adjacent to the pub. It is set to be a glorious summer day out for all Londoners, whether they are vegan or not.”
The success and popularity of London Vegan Beer Fest has resulted in US company Follow Your Heart (makers of vegan cheese and mayonnaise) coming on board as major sponsors, helping organiser Sean O’Callaghan take the event on the road with versions coming up in both Glasgow and Manchester later in the year.
Tickets for London Vegan Beer Fest start from just £5 plus booking fee.
