Not that we want to get involved in the rights and wrongs of the dispute that’s basically about TfL’s resolve to shut down station ticket offices.

On the one hand, the RMT union reckons the strike and its picket lines outside Tube stations has solid support, whereas the gaffers at TfL say that 9 out of 10 of the usual number of Oyster cards were used yesterday.

London Underground says that half of train services were running and two-thirds of Tube stations were open, whereas union officials reckon the figures are misleading and say platforms are dangerously overcrowded.

If someone doesn’t knock their heads together, there will be another three-day strike next week.

Us? We just want our rattly old underground back, don’t we?
