Lord Mayor’s trousers fall down during speech

The Lord Mayor of Leicester apologised after his trousers fell down during a speech.

Councillor Colin Hall was taking part in a Global Education function and stood up to say thanks to his audience.

Unfortunately for him, as he stood his trousers dropped to his ankles, giving people a lot more Mayor than they bargained for.

A spokesman for Mr Hall said: “The lord mayor has offered his deepest apologies to those attending the event for any offence caused by the accident.”

“He was not wearing a belt and the trousers came loose and fell.”

Don’t worry Colin – we’re sure no one will ever mention it again!
