Air (EMI)

Like a number of Air records, Love 2 takes a while to get going.

This one, though, takes too long, and never really gets going at all.

The first couple of tracks feel like mid-record fillers, the next pair like blown-up B-sides.

Air’s sixth album takes flight with Missing The Light Of Day, a mix of ethereality and fidgetiness.

But it doesn’t last, and the record soon dissipates in a cloud of malnourished songwriting and demo-quality instrumentals.

A strangely half-arsed collection.
