A major car crash on the M11 in Essex, involving three lorries, a coach and four cars, has led to the whole M11 being closed off. Two people are believed to be trapped in the coach and one person is trapped in a car.
The car crash happened on the M11 in Essex, between junctions eight and nine, near Stansted Airport shortly before 10am this morning.
The entire motorway has been closed to allow access for rescue workers. Fire engines, ambulances and an air ambulance were dispatched to the area to transport casualties to hospital.
Those reported to be trapped in their vehicles at the scene of the crash are receiving first aid.
Police said they expected the road to be closed for several hours.
Motorists caught up in the incident are asked to be patient as heavy traffic has been reported around the area.
