A man dumping his dog in a car park has been caught on CCTV and is being looked for by the council.
The man is seen driving into the car park where he initially looks as though he is taking his lame dog for a walk. However he turns around and sprints back to his car, leaving the dog limping behind him.
Staff in office blocks overlooking the Granby Industrial Estate car park in Weymouth, Dorset witnessed the dog being left behind.
Nicknaming it Ginger, they took the pooch to a local rescue centre where he is now waiting for a new home.
Council bosses have appealed to the public to help identify the man.
The maximum sentence for causing a dog unnecessary suffering is six months in prison and/or a £20,000 fine.
If you know who this man is you should call Weymouth and Portland Borough Council on 01305 838009.
