US Marine Sgt Brandon McGraw and his wife set off on their trip last week.
Whilst the couple were in Australia, they decided to do a parachute jump – and Brandon, who was an experienced parachutist, jumped solo.
However, after three or four minutes’ floating with a good canopy, he ran in to trouble and ended up crashing to the ground. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Brandon’s wife, Cherilyn, saw the whole tragedy having completed a tandem jump just before him.
Cherilyn posted photos of her husband inside the plane on Facebook, and wrote the words: “My hero. My angel. I love you more than anything in the world, honey. You are the most amazing man.”
