The couple invited 100 guests to what they thought was going to be a surprise part for Chan, who graduated from medical school last week, only to hit them with a switcheroo and surprise their guests a wedding ceremony.
The wedding took place in the back garden of their Palo Alto home with Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong singing during the reception.
MChan grew up in Boston and spent two years teaching science before going to medical school to become a pediatrician.
Oddly Chan is most famous for something she didn’t appear in: She was notably left out of Aaron Sorkin’s facebook dramatisation The Social Network.
