How easy is it getting a marketing job in Australia after leaving the UK?
TNT asked Richard Finnila, 28, a Marketing Consultant from Brisbane, Australia:
How long were you in London and why did you leave?
I lived in Fulham for two and a half years. My fiancée and I were
over the cold weather and woeful economy and we were organising our
wedding for later in the year.
What do you do for a living in Australia?
I’m a marketing and communications consultant who specialises in Australian and UK marketing campaigns.
Did your overseas experience help you land your job?
Definitely. I was approached by a company through international
recruitment website trackmeback.com.au. They help lots of Aussies and
New Zealanders find work back home before they leave the UK.
What do you miss most about London?
Daylight saving. There’s nothing like finishing work at 6pm and still having three hours of sunlight.
