The accolade comes as Melbourne is also named Australia’s fastest growing city, ahead of Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Sydney. The rating is based on an exceptional performance in the categories of political and social stability, low crime rates, access to quality healthcare and education. The city is now home to four million people and is said to have a resilient economy. This has been helped by its competitive and successful business environment, a thriving arts and cultural scene, food and wine, the education sector, sports and entertainment, and reliable infrastructure.
