Johnson came out for a cameo after Australia scored an imposing 350 in the first innings of the series opener.
Glenn Maxwell scored an innovative 93 off 46 balls, while Aaron Finch (67 off 79), Brad Haddin (46 off 58) and Mitchell Marsh (89 off 83) also contributed with class.
Johnson’s 20 off 10 provided the most memorable moment of the match though as he casually drive a flat six over the head of medium pacer Tinashe Panyangara.
South African commentator Neil Manthorp was a consummate pro as he asked former Zimbabwe international Pommie Mbangwa if he was OK as head brushed broken glass off his clothes.
The total was far too much for the hosts to handle as they folded for just 152 with the gentle leg-spin of Steve Smith doing the most damage (3 for 16 runs off 4.3 overs) as the wickets were shared across six of the seven bowlers, including one for the incredibly tight Johnson who went for an average of just 1.16 for each of his six overs.
