The big question now is – would Romney have done better had he spent his prep time going over the big issues rather then, well, practising sitting on a barstool?
CNN report that prior to the debate, Romeny did in fact undergo intense training in how to sit on a barstool without looking like a douchbag.
Romney is a Mormon, so his experience in bars is understandably limited. Still, the impression he has never sat on a barstool would mean he’s also never had the all-American experience of ordering up some ribs on a rickety stool in a BBQ shack, or even sat at a breakfast bar for his morning coffee.
