The girls, who all study at the Italia Conti Academy of Musical Theatre in London, left the X Factor after group mentor Cheryl Fernandez-Versini swapped them for gospel singers Melody Stone during the 6-chair challenge which caused an uproar with the audience.
Made up of Honey (20), Abi,(20) Monifa (17) & Izzy (21) , Mon Amie describe themselves as an “all singing, all dancing girl band”.
Mon Amie’s boot camp song of Louis Armstrong’s What a Wonderful World had more than 900,000 views online and their debut music video, a cover version of Diamonds by Rihanna, has received huge adulation. The band’s performance Britney Spears’ One More Time during X Factor’s 6 Chair Challenge has also had over 470,000 views to date.
After their performance, judge Rita Ora said “I really love the girl band” while fellow judge Simon Cowell declared he was“really impressed” by them.
Jason says: “Mon Amie are a new, fresh, different type of girl band. I watched the girls debut on X Factor and was really impressed and can’t wait for them to join me on tour. Mon Amie are all about the strength in their vocals & harmonies, these girls need no gimmicks as their credibility, unique style of vocal and personality blends all four girls to a perfect match.”
This is the first time Jason has toured as a solo artist for six years and the first time he has ever toured the Ten Good Reasons album.
Ten Good Reasons became the biggest selling album of 1989 and remains a massive fan favourite with two solo No.1 singles Too Many Broken Hearts and Sealed with a Kiss. It also featured a duet with Kylie Minogue, Especially For You, which reached No.1.
Jason added: “The response to the tour has been totally overwhelming. I have been shocked and humbled by the speed at which these shows sold. Ten Good Reasons’ was life changing for me the first time around and it’s already proving to be life changing again.”
